I am a finalist, now what?

First of all, congratulations for making it through the first round of the Remake Design Challenge 2014!

Now the hard works starts…

A compulsory workshop will be held on 25 JULY 2014 from 9am – 1pm at Design Time School of Interior Design. All finalists MUST be present at this workshop. More details to follow, keep an eye on your inboxes.

Fashion finalists please bring sketches and developed concept of your couture piece to this workshop.

As part of the workshop we will also be providing feedback on your open application submissions, including advice and suggestions on material and textile choices.

You are now required to start making the garments from the 3 looks you submitted in your first round application. You are also required to make ONE couture outfit based on the same mood board submitted in the open application.

The competition design brief requirements for your one couture outfit are the same as in the open application. This means that your entire four outfit collection must be:

  • Created using one or more of the sustainable design techniques zero-waste, upcycling, reconstruction, natural or organic fibres and/or materials with recycled content.
  • Textile waste must be used for the up-cycling and reconstruction outfits.
  • All artwork and outfits must be original creations designed by you and they must not have been seen in public previously.
  • Your outfits must have been made and sewn by yourself.

You are now required to start making your object ranges, as per your original open application entry boards.
